| ~ Frequently Asked Questions ~ What is Craving Control? It's a serialized comic strip about a gluttonous college freshman named Lalia that was originally posted on Drunk Duck in 2007-2008. It ran for 28 campy episodes but stopped before any real story developed! Why did you stop drawing it? The main reason was simply lack of motivation. I spent more and more time planning ahead rather than drawing, and then when I went to draw, I felt bored with the material from thinking about it so much. What's happened since then? After the series disappeared from Drunk Duck, I would still occasionally sketch a new episode. I actually had several partially-finished episodes, but nothing good or finished enough to release. (I don't like releasing unfinished work, so please don't ask about these.) Months later, Halloween 2009 was approaching and I got an idea for a special 2-page holiday episode. It had nothing to do with the existing continuity, but just put the familiar characters in a straightforward Halloween context. I released it here on Deviant Art, as a surprise. What was going to happen in the original story? As hinted strongly in the last episode, Trevor and Jane were to become friends. They would become very close but always stay platonic. Trevor was going to start using Jane as an excuse to be around Lalia, because he was always too shy to approach her directly. Jane would be the girl who was really right for Trevor, but he would always be fixated on his fantasy girl, Lalia. Trevor would have some chance to be with Lalia, but blow it. Meanwhile, Lalia was going to keep screwing up her school work and eating worse and worse. Her weight was going to fluctuate, but not dramatically. She would be oblivious to the romantic triangle. There weren't really any plans for Kim. As for how all this was going to happen, there were various plans, but nothing that interesting to describe. As you can see, it wasn't a complete story with an ending, but a general idea of things that might happen later on. Will there be more episodes? I understand the frustration and disappointment of waiting for a comic to update. Craving Control has no update schedule, and it doesn't have any current plans to update. Because I hate disappointing readers, my official position will remain that Craving Control is over and no one should expect any more episodes. I liked doing the Halloween episode, so *if* there is another episode, it will *probably* be like that: a short, self-contained story. I'm not really interested in the old continuity anymore. Will Lalia ever get fat? Inexplicably, Lalia has never gotten fat, despite her atrocious eating habits. As seen in episode 25, Lalia is not totally impervious to weight gain. But she will never be really fat, because I just am not interested in going there. An important part of how she looks is her graceful arms and other delicate features. If she ballooned up, she wouldn't be Lalia anymore. Is her hair shorter in the Halloween episode? Yes! Good eye. Do you do commissions or art trades? No, sorry! |
